THREE years ago today, I walked through the doors of Weight Watchers with sheer determination. The previous night I announced to my family that I was going to WW the following morning come hell or high water. The next morning, my grandchild was sick, but I stuck to my word, packed him in his car seat and we walked through the doors to begin my journey. On this day, 3 years later, heโs walking through the doors with me again. BUT, this time Iโm a lifetime member weighing 50+ lbs lighter which Iโve successfully maintained.

What a journey this has been and it’s the reason I began this blog.
What I love about WW since Day 1 has been the freedom. Nothing is off limits. I jumped with both feet in ready to put in the work, and knew the only way to succeed was to follow the WW program to the best of my ability. Honestly, to cheat the program was to cheat myself. Why would I want to do that? So, I learned to make smart choices and I learned about balance. I showed up at the meetings like an eager student, ready to learn. My fearless leader along with other members taught me how to deal with real life choices regarding food on a daily basis.
Iโve learned that age is just a number! Yes, our bodies do change as we age and there are things we have no control over. BUT we are in control of what we put in our mouth!!! Donโt use your age as an excuse!!!
I attribute my weight loss success because Iโm still doing what it took to lose the weight. Itโs a lifestyle change. My nutrition looks nothing like it did before and Iโm feeling great as a result. I am simply not interested in self sabotaging and returning to unhealthy habits. I honestly have no desire. Itโs been fun trying new foods and discovering new recipes. Adventures in the kitchen!!!
Something Iโm very proud of is my cholesterol. 8 months into my journey, I had normal cholesterol for the first time in my life. And itโs been that way ever since. Hello!!!
Never underestimate yourself. Your so much stronger than you realize.
Whatever path you choose, the only way itโs going to work is if you put in the work. But more importantly, have FUN with it. Embrace the change. Savor in the self discoveries along the way. Be persistent & consistent. Be bold & daring!!!
Today, on my 3-year anniversary, I am filled with gratitude that I partnered with WW on the road to my health. I look forward to many more discoveries & adventures that await me!!!
And of course, Iโm grateful for my biggest cheerleader, my husband of nearly 30 years, along with my awesome children for sharing in my success.
