Adventures on a Whim

Happy Monday my friends! How was your weekend? I hope that it brought you joy and happiness.

My husband & I ran away to New Orleans for an overnight get away. Steven suggested we take our bikes so we could bike ride throughout the French Quarter, so we did. Oh what fun we had!!!

While weaving through the streets, taking in the sights and enjoying the beautiful weather, our first stop was at EnVie Espresso Bar & Cafe for Iced Lattes and dessert. The coffee was perfect 😍 I ordered the chocolate chip cookie (which was HUGE) and Steven had the blueberry muffin. Great vibes & relaxing stop.

Next up was bike riding to Mass at the St Louis Cathedral. BEAUTIFUL Church!!! An added bonus was running into familiar faces, meeting new people with great conversation. Following Mass, we headed to dinner at the Italian Barrel. It was our first time there, and definitely won’t be our last. We chose an outdoor table, which was perfect for listening to a local musician across the street, and great people watching. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Ironically enough, it was located across the street from Cafe EnVie!

Veal special, Spaghetti Aglio Olio Pepperoncino, Brussels Sprouts 😍

Our first afternoon & evening sure was exciting!!! We capped off the evening with our own dance party πŸ’ƒ

Sunday morning we tried another new place, Fatma’s Cozy Corner. Yep, you guessed it!!! We rode our bikes there ☺️ There’s nothing like morning time in New Orleans. The streets were empty and quiet after the hustle and bustle of a Saturday night. At Fatma’s we enjoyed cappuccino, latte, and the biscuit sandwiches that came with a side of watermelon πŸ˜‹ Super friendly staff and we enjoyed visiting with the other customers. It lives up to its name – COZY!

It looks like the best way to summarize our quick get away was food & biking!!! Steven & I enjoy trying new places and all three of these were a hit. If your ever in the New Orleans area, I highly recommend you check them out.

Life is an adventure, try something new today!
