As my soberversary approaches, emotions tend to be higher than usual. It’s hard to describe but can be very uncomfortable at times. This weekend I felt sucker punched with an email I received. My emotions exploded and I “vented” to my family.

That night as I lay down in bed saying my prayers and reflecting on my day, I was reminded of a prayer I had been praying for the days prior.

God, Guide Me.

While the resentment is still present (but much milder!), an overwhelming sense of peace covered me like a blanket. At that moment God told me, “Child, I am guiding you.”

Breathe. Surrender. Trust.
